Like various technological devices that delight or bedevil us, hearing equipment continues to evolve to help us connect to our worldvia phone, hearing aid, other special devices. These advances reflect increasing awareness that various hearing situations call for different solutions. Multiple programs in hearing aids are an example familiar to most of us. Megan will bring us up to date on such developments. October 22-- ”Your Hearing Health--Get Informed and Get in Control”. John Allen, specialist in hearing assistive equipment, member of the Washington State Facilities Access Advisory Committee and board member of the Hearing Loss Association of Washington. John will discuss 3 steps to hearing health: (1) hearing aids or implants, (2) assistive devices ---equipment used with or instead of your hearing aids such as an amplified phone, (3) coping strategies ---how to manage communication with family, friends, and institutions. |
